SexSense made its voice heard at the ILGA World Conference in Cape Town, In the the largest global gathering of LGBTQIA+ changemakers, SexSense met worldwide connections with people working towards the right to gender identity, sexual and mental health and rights, the opposition of anti-gender movements, the implementation of trauma-informed approaches, and sexuality education including in its intersection with disability and much more. 

We took the floor to introduce SexSense to the world and speak up about comprehensive sexuality education (CSE) in our Rainbow Talk “The world is a kaleidoscope: the role of Comprehensive Sexuality Education to support LGBTQIA+ youth”. We discussed the potential of a CSE which is non-binary, intersectional, child-centred, evidence-based, trauma-informed and sex-positive, can have in contrasting gender-based violence and promoting mental health among youth with diverse Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and Expression, and Sex Characteristics (SOGIESC). 

We also had the immense honour of meeting the worthy winners of the International Pride Awards,  which recognizes the great world done by LGBTQIA+ equality heroes and why, not, dance to the movement of Ballroom celebration!

A surely enriching experience, the ILGA World Conference 2024 was a chance to launch SexSense to the world, advocate for sexuality education which is comprehensive and intersectional and make longlasting connections in a beautiful, relevant and contradicting setting as South Africa.
