Strategy
Strategy and objectives for 2026-2027
We've worked closely with our Active Members to develop our 2026–2027 strategy and set out a bold vision that responds to the rise of anti-gender movements while remaining committed to building a society that values diversity and Comprehensive Sexuality Education as essential for the health, rights, and safety of all.
Our focus will be on building meaningful collaborations, developing joint innovative projects, and contributing to a stronger, collective voice that helps shape the public and professional discourse on CSE – together with other networks.
Priority 1: Boosting funding and networking opportunities
-
Expand funding opportunities by identifying, pursuing and securing diverse sources of financial support based on the new Multiannual Financial Framework 2028–2034 of the European Commission3 as well as philanthropic and private-sector contributions.
-
Foster collaboration for joint project proposal design among Active Members through internal and external networking events, creating spaces where partnerships and consortia can naturally emerge.
-
Strengthen the network’s fundraising and proposal-writing capabilities by providing targeted training, mentorship, templates, and guidance to and by members.
Priority 2: Strengthening our advocacy actions in CSE
- Reinforce our participation in, and build synergies with, existing advocacy groups, coalitions, and alliances at national, regional, and international levels.
- Establish new contacts with influential experts and policymakers in the field at the European level to create a strong advocacy ecosystem that supports CSE, especially in the regions where anti-gender movements are strong.
- Boost our presence at advocacy events as SexSense Network, ensuring visibility through joint statements (including a statement on the visibility of CSE in the EU programmes 2028-2034), side events, and representation at high-level forums.
Priority 3: Strengthening the network’s and CSE’s recognition
-
Reshape the narrative around CSE to address the rise of anti-gender movements by stressing the benefits of CSE and ensuring that all communications are inclusive of all subjectivities, non-discriminatory, non-victimising, trauma-informed and youth-led.
-
Consolidate SexSense’s position as a leading voice and trusted reference in CSE to enhance the network’s visibility and credibility with policymakers and decision-makers from the sector.
-
Nurture our community by fostering a strong sense of cohesion, feeling of safety and active engagement, and demonstrating the benefits of joining SexSenseto both current and prospective members.
Priority 4: Enhancing capacity in the field of CSE
-
Enhance knowledge, capacity and collaboration in the field of CSE among SexSense members through webinars, peer-learning sessions, and collaborative tools.
-
Share resources, opportunities, practices, methodologies and external training courses by and among SexSense members via a dedicated internal platform and regular updates.
-
Develop a pool of experts in CSE as a reference point for members.
Priority 5: Encouraging collaborations in the academic sector in CSE
-
Develop a roadmap to encourage synergies among members in the academic sector, such as joint project proposals, thesis revisions, co-authored publications and research collaborations that strengthen the evidence base for CSE.
-
Foster our presence at academic conferences as SexSense Network, positioning members as contributors to scholarly debates and thought leadership.
